VOL News Desk/ Mohmad Haneefa, Member of Parliament for the Ladakh Lok Sabha constituency & Nasreen Maryam President Anjuman Imamia Women Wing Leh, has formally requested the inclusion of Eid-e-Ghadir, Shah-e-Qadir, and Arbaeen as Gazette Holidays across the entire Union Territory of Ladakh.

In a letter addressed to the Honourable Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Shri Kavinder Gupta, MP Haneefa brought attention to the fact that while these occasions hold significant religious and cultural importance—particularly for the sizable Shia minority in the region—their recognition as holidays is currently not uniform throughout the UT.

The request urges the Administration to examine the matter with compassion and fairness, ensuring uniformity and respecting the sentiments of the community.
