Ladakh Administration Constitutes New Advisory Board Under National Security Act
Leh, Oct 05/ VOL News Desk/ The Administration of the Union Territory of Ladakh has constituted a new Advisory Board under the provisions of the National Security Act (NSA), 1980, with the concurrence of the Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
According to a notification issued by the Home Department vide S.O. 117 dated October 5, 2025, the new board replaces an earlier notification (S.O. 113 of 2025) issued on September 26, 2025.
As per the order, Justice M.K. Hanjura (Retd.), former Judge of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Advisory Board. The Board also includes Mr. Manoj Parihar, Principal District and Sessions Judge, Leh, and Ms. Spalzes Angmo, Principal District and Sessions Judge, Kargil, as Members.

The Advisory Board has been established under Section 9, read with Section 2(e) of the National Security Act, 1980 (Act No. 65 of 1980). The board’s primary mandate is to review cases related to preventive detention and ensure adherence to constitutional safeguards.
The terms and conditions governing the Chairman’s appointment will be regulated as per Order No. 90-Home of 2025, dated September 30, 2025.
