Kargil, Sep 27/ VOL News Desk/ Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC Kargil, Rakesh Kumar (IAS) today chaired a meeting at Conference Hall Baroo to review land acquisition issues pertaining to the Border Roads Organisation (BRO).

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Imteeaz Kacho, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Jahangeer Akhone, Commander 762 BRTF, Shailendra Kumar, OC 55 RCC, Major Rakesh Rana, OIC Kargil, Ravindra Shah, Tehsildar Kargil besides other officers and officials. Sub Divisional Magistrates of Sankoo, Drass, and Shakar Chiktan also joined the meeting virtually.

During the meeting, the DC reviewed ongoing BRO projects across Kargil district, including the status of National Highway safety works and pending land acquisition cases. He directed the ACR and Tehsildar concerned to expedite clearance of all pending cases and ensure fair compensation to affected landowners.

The DC also emphasized the importance of safeguarding labourers’ welfare and aksed to ensure timely and fair disbursement of compensation. 

Progress on road projects including NH-1 (Drass sector) and other sub-divisional stretches under BRO execution was also reviewed in detail.

The Deputy Commissioner instructed officers to resolve issues in a time bound manner and to ensure visible progress before the next review meeting.
