Apex Body Leh PC: Serious Allegations Against Government, Judicial Inquiry Demanded
Leh, Sep 29/ VOL News Desk/ The Apex Body of Ladakh, in an emergency press conference, expressed deep concern over the violent incidents of September 24 and strongly criticized the government and local administration. Leaders said that during a peaceful protest, authorities resorted to “indiscriminate use of force,” resulting in the deaths of four young men and injuries to dozens of others.
Representatives of the Apex Body alleged that the Lieutenant Governor and police officials insulted the people of Ladakh by linking their movement to “foreign agendas” and “Pakistani conspiracies.” They said these accusations are baseless and aimed at covering up the government’s failures.
The leaders outlined three key demands:

A judicial inquiry under the supervision of a retired Supreme Court judge to establish the facts.
Immediate release of detained students and volunteers, along with withdrawal of “false cases” filed against them.
Suspension of participation in any formal talks with the government until peace and public confidence are restored in Ladakh.
The Apex Body further emphasized that the movement is centered on four long-standing demands of the people of Ladakh: protection under the Sixth Schedule, statehood for Ladakh, a separate cadre for local youth, and the creation of two parliamentary constituencies. Leaders warned that if these demands are not addressed seriously, public unrest is likely to intensify.
