MP Ladakh meets Union Health Minister to boost Health Infrastructure in Ladakh
New Delhi,: In a significant development for the healthcare sector in Ladakh, a high-level meeting was held between Union Health Minister Shri J.P. Nadda and Member of Parliament from Ladakh to discuss key health issues and the need for improved medical facilities in the region, stated the MP in a post on X.
During the meeting, discussions focused on the urgent need to enhance healthcare infrastructure, with a particular emphasis on the District Hospital in Kargil. A proposal has been submitted to the Ministry to upgrade the hospital to a 200-bedded facility.
The discussion also explored the possibility of further upgrading the hospital into a Multi-Specialty Hospital or establishing a branch of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Kargil. This move, it was deliberated, would provide residents with access to advanced medical care and significantly improve health outcomes in the region.

Union Health Minister Shri J.P. Nadda assured that the Ministry would work towards providing these enhanced facilities at the earliest, promising a positive and swift response to the developmental needs of Ladakh’s healthcare system.
