Dr. Jaffer Akhoon Inspects Conference Hall Construction Work at Council Sectt.
Kargil, Aug 23/ VOL News Desk/ The Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohd. Jaffer Akhoon had an inspection of ongoing construction work of the new conference hall building at council secretariat, today.
During the visit, the Assistant Executive Engineer from the R&B Department briefed the CEC that the new conference hall building will consist of two floors, including a conference hall at the first floor and an assembly hall at the second floor. He further informed that the construction work is in progress at good pace.
The CEC directed the department officials to ensure completion of the first floor within this working season along with the necessary furniture. He, further instructed the concerned officers to carry out landscaping of the Secretariat compound and expedite the construction of the main gate.

In addition, Dr. Akhoon emphasized the need for winter-friendly toilets for male and female separately and directed the concerned officer to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the construction of local winter-friendly toilets within the premises.

The headline should have included the assembly hall, as it is of higher importance. LAHDC Leh has had an assembly hall for twenty years while our council was busy building lavish quarters for the councillors on prime real estate.
