Oath-Taking Ceremony of BZB Executive Body Held Under the Leadership of Hon’ble Chairman, Guardian Council IKMT, Kargil Ladakh.


SMC Hall IKMT, Kargil, 20-07-2025 – A significant milestone in the agricultural development of the region was marked today as the newly elected executive body of BZB (Baseej-e-Zaraat-wa-Baghbani), the agricultural wing of Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust (IKMT), took oath in a formal ceremony presided over by the Hon’ble Chairman of the Guardian Council IKMT. The event, held with great reverence and enthusiasm, underscored the crucial role of agriculture in the socio-economic progress of the community.
The proceedings began with the recitation of the Holy Quran (Tilawat), by Shiekh Khadim Sadiqi, setting a solemn and spiritual tone for the occasion. The ceremony was attended by senior members of IKMT, heads of various organs of the organization, prominent Ulemas of Baseej-e-Ruhaniyun, and active members of BZB, reflecting the collective commitment towards agricultural advancement.

The Hon’ble Chairman of the Guardian Council IKMT administered the oath to the newly elected office bearers, who pledged to serve with integrity, dedication, and a spirit of innovation in advancing the agricultural sector.

Janab Munshi Hussain, representing the Election Authority of IKMT, presented the detailed proceedings of the election process and extended a warm welcome to all attendees.
Alhaj Asgar Ali Karbalai, the senior member of the Guardian Council, emphasized that “agriculture is not just an occupation but a collective responsibility and the backbone of our economy.” Quoting the traditional proverb “Bubsna Sa Hrten” (a meaningful message about resilience, grounding, and finding strength in nature—specifically in agriculture or the soil), he urged the community to actively participate in sustainable farming practices.

The Hon’ble Chairman, Guardian Council, highlighted the psychological, economic, and environmental benefits of agriculture, stating: “Farming not only brings peace to the soul but also ensures food security and economic stability. BZB has been a pioneering force in this sector, and we must continue to innovate and empower our farmers.”

Alhaj Mohd Ali, former President of BZB, delivered a heartfelt address, reflecting on the organization’s remarkable journey since its inception in 2019. With visible emotion, he recounted the early struggles – from limited resources and skepticism to establishing BZB as a credible force in Ladakh’s agricultural sector. “We began with nothing but faith and determination,” he shared, “facing challenges that would have discouraged lesser men.” Highlighting key milestones, he spoke of BZB’s successful farmer training programs, the introduction of modern irrigation techniques, and the establishment of crucial market linkages that transformed local agriculture. “Each achievement was made possible through the collective effort of our dedicated team and the farming community,” he emphasized. Turning to the Hon’ble Chairman, Sheikh Sadiq Rajai, his voice filled with gratitude as he acknowledged the leader’s pivotal role. “Without the Chairman’s visionary guidance and steadfast support during our most difficult moments, BZB would not stand where it does today,” he stated. He also thanked the Guardian Council and the Executive Body members for their continued support to BZB.

The newly elected President, Mr. Ali Naqi, expressed his gratitude to the outgoing team and pledged to “uphold the legacy while introducing progressive reforms.” His key focus areas include: Strengthening market access for local farmers, training programs & policy advocacy, adoption of technology & innovation & encouraging youth participation in agriculture. Speaking to the media, he thanked the Election Authority IKMT for conducting fair election process and acknowledged the guidance of the Guardian Council, Executive Body, and General Secretary IKMT.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Vice Chairman IKMT, Sheikh Hassanain Rizwani, who congratulated the new team and reaffirmed IKMT’s commitment to agricultural prosperity.
This ceremony marks a new chapter for BZB, reinforcing its mission to empower farmers, promote sustainable agriculture, and drive economic growth in the region. With strong leadership and community support, the future of Ladakh’s farming sector looks promising.
