Educationist and Poet Haji Mohammad Ali Bhutto Naushin Dies in Road Accident; Kargil Mourns His Loss
Kargil, July 16, 2025 — Haji Mohammad Ali Bhutto Naushin, a revered educationist, respected teacher, and noted poet from Kargil district, passed away in a tragic road accident on Tuesday. His untimely demise has triggered a wave of grief across the region, especially within the literary, educational, social, and religious circles of Kargil and Drass.
Multiple organisations including the Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust (IKMT) Kargil, Bazm-e-Adab and former Councillor, Syed Mohammad Shah expressed deep sorrow over the loss and extended condolences to the bereaved family. On Wednesday morning, a delegation from IKMT — comprising its Chairman Hojjatul Islam Sheikh Sadiq Rajai, Guardian Council member Haji Asghar Ali Karbalai, Vice Chairman Hojjatul Islam Sheikh Ghulam Hasnain Rizwani, and others — visited the late scholar’s residence to offer condolences.
Public figures such as Executive Councillor Zakir Hussain, Executive Councillor Kacho Mohammad Feroz, and former Councillor of Bimbat Drass also expressed grief and paid tribute to Haji Bhutto’s lifelong contributions to education and literature.

Haji Mohammad Ali Bhutto Naushin held several key posts in the Department of Education and retired as Deputy Chief Education Officer. Throughout his career, he worked extensively to promote education in remote areas of Kargil district.
Post-retirement, he remained actively involved in educational and social initiatives. He volunteered with IKMT Kargil, serving as Secretary of the Dispute Resolution Committee, Vice Chairman of the Bazm-e-Adab literary forum, and as an English teacher at Jamia Imam Khomeini and Jamia Fatima Zahra. He also served as a lifelong member and warden of the Orphan Trust.
Originally from Throngus village in the Drass subdivision, Haji Bhutto was celebrated not only as a sincere and principled educator but also as a poet whose works were appreciated by literary and intellectual circles alike.
A somber atmosphere now prevails across Kargil and Drass, with continuous prayer gatherings being held for the departed soul.
