CEC Kargil Unveils Logo for Suru Summer Festival 2025

Kargil, July 29, 2025: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohd. Jaffer Akhoon, today unveiled the logo for the upcoming Suru Summer Festival 2025 at the Council Secretariat.

On the occasion, Executive Councillor Kacho Mohd Feroz, Executive Councillor Aga Syed Mujtaba, Additional Deputy Commissioner Imteeaz Kacho, Councillors Liyaqat Ali and Aga Ain-ul-Huda and Assistant Director Tourism Department Kargil, Muhammad Ali Tak, were present.

The Suru Summer Festival 2025, being organized by the Department of Tourism, UT Ladakh, in collaboration with LAHDC Kargil and District Administration Kargil is scheduled to be held on 26th August 2025

at various locations like Ashana, Khumbathang, Karpo Khar, Namsuru, Kochik, Damsna and other villages.

The event will feature a wide range of air, water, and land-based adventure activities, including paragliding, rafting, rock climbing, rappelling, cycling, and a motorcycle rally. Alongside adventure sports, the festival will also host cultural exhibitions, ethnic food displays, nature exploration activities, and photography opportunities.

Marking a significant milestone, the Suru Summer Festival is being organized for the first time to celebrate the breathtaking beauty, adventure sports potential, and cultural richness of the Suru Valley. The valley has been recognized by National Geographic as one of the 25 best places in the world to visit in 2025.

The festival aims to showcase local traditions, cuisine, and adventure tourism potential, and is expected to attract a large number of domestic as well as international tourists.
