University of Ladakh kargil campus, July 10, 2025 — Aba Idrees , President of the All Ladakh Students’ Welfare Association, Chandigarh (ALSWAC), met with Prof. Saket Kushwaha, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of Ladakh University, to discuss long-standing academic concerns. He also appreciated the VC for introducing new courses at the university.

Key topics discussed included the upgradation of Sankoo Campus to a full-fledged degree college, to which the VC assured he will raise the matter with higher authorities and strive to implement it in the next academic session He also assured to added the essential subject such as maths ,geography & physics

On the transportation issue,of sankoo college the VC gave a firm assurance that the college bus service will be restored by the end of this month he also assured the student for educational tour at this year.

Further discussions covered the introduction of Home Science and Philosophy as academic subjects at Ladakh University , which the VC confirmed will be added in the upcoming session. The need for a separate department for local Ladakhi languages of Ladakh was also raised, and the VC expressed support for the proposal.
