AKSAD Condemns Detention of Ladakhi Padyatris in Delhi
VoL Desk, October 01: The All Kargil (Ladakh) Students Association Delhi (AKSAD) has strongly condemned the detention of Ladakhi Padyatris by the Delhi Police. In a press release, AKSAD expressed deep concern over the incident, urging the government to meet the demands of the Ladakhi people.
“We, the students of Ladakh, are deeply disheartened by the government’s refusal to allow the peaceful Padyatris, who have been marching for over a month, to enter Delhi. This peaceful march was a platform to advocate for the longstanding Four-Point demands of the Ladakhi people,” AKSAD stated.
The association emphasized that the detention of the Padyatris, including key leaders from the Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA), the Apex Body, and Member of Parliament Mohd Haneefa, has caused significant distress within the Ladakhi community.

“This march was organized to remind the government of the promises made to Ladakh. After years of inaction, it is imperative that the voices of Ladakh be heard and respected,” the statement continued.
AKSAD called on the government to address the concerns of the Ladakhi people and fulfill the commitments made to the region. They also urged supporters to use social media and other platforms to amplify the cause, stating, “Together, let us remain hopeful and united in our pursuit of justice for Ladakh. We cannot allow the concerns of our region to be sidelined.”
