VoL Desk, Sep. 22: Ladakh Buddhist Association (LBA) condemned the controversial statement given by Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC Leh Advocate Tashi Gyalson, claiming the Prime Minister ‘Narendra Modi’ as the incarnation of the Maitreya Buddha (rGyalwa Chamba).

The LBA condemned the statement in a press release today. The CEC Gyaltsan allegedly made the statement in a recent public gathering of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

“Such a highly objectionable statement by a responsible public figure holding Constitutional position is regrettable and highly condemnable. Ladakh Buddhist
Association demand that he should explain to the public for his unwanted statement”, read the press release.

“We also expect that all the political leaders should abstain from making such statement while discharging their democratic duties”, the press release maintained.
