Leh/ Jan 04: To provide better services to the people of Nubra valley at Thoise Airport, a meeting was convened under the chairmanship of Rigzin Sampheal, Commissioner/ Secretary, Civil Aviation, UT administration of Ladakh, at the Civil Secretariat today. 

The meeting attended by Divisional Commissioner, Ladakh, Saugat Biswas; Secretary Cooperative, Ladakh, Ravinder Kumar; Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Sachin Kumar Vaishya; SSP, Leh, Rajiv Pandey; and officers from the Indian Army and Indian Air Force.

Challenges due to COVID 19 and necessary arrangements to needed as per the COVID SOPs and Protocols, discussed during the meeting.

The appointment of nodal officers, medical personnel, frisking facilities, among other important points highlighted during the meeting. Challenges such as space constraint and lack of passenger shed at Thoise Airport took up during the meeting. 

Commissioner/ Secretary, Sampheal directed the Deputy Commissioner Leh, Sachin Kumar Vaishya to appoint nodal officers and to make arrangements for functioning of the airport. He also instructed DC Sachin to prepare a detailed SOP for ensuring smooth movement of passengers and traffic from Thoise to Chandigarh and Chandigarh to Thoise.

He further directed DC Leh, Sachin Kumar to ensure the comfort of passengers who wait for their flights at the airport.

Meanwhile, DC Leh, Sachin Kumar informed that Covid-19 protocols would prepare as per the instruction from the government. 

Divisional Commissioner, Ladakh, Saugat Biswas, Secretary Ravinder Kumar and SSP Leh Rajiv Pandey also shared their views. During the meeting, officers from the Army informed about the help provided by them to the administration as well as people of Ladakh.
