Ladakh Education Officials Review CBSE Exam Performance

Kargil, May 21, 2025 – Administrative Secretary, School Education Department, Ladakh. Mrs. Bhanu Prabha convened a review meeting at Conference Hall, Baroo, Kargil today to assess the performance of Class 10th and 12th students in 2025 CBSE examinations.

The meeting was attended by Director of School Education Department, Ladakh Tsering Paldan, Principal DIET Kargil, S.D. Namgyal, CEO Kargil Sonam Wangchuk, ZEOs, Principals, headmasters, lecturers, teachers, and masters of all Government Schools of Kargil.

Mrs. Bhanu Prabha commenced the meeting by congratulating the schools that achieved 100% pass result, including High School Biama, High School Samrah, and High School Lankarchay. She also commended the Arabic and vocational subject teachers for their exemplary results.

A detailed analysis of the year-wise pass percentages, subject-wise average scores, and comparisons between Class 10th and 12th results was conducted. Mrs. Bhanu Prabha emphasized the need for targeted interventions to enhance student performance.

Pertinent to mention that last year the CBSE board 10th examination result percentage was 45% which increased this year to 68 % likewise last year 12th CBSE board examination result was 35% which improved this year to 41%.

In her directives, she instructed the Principal DIET to develop a comprehensive conceptual question bank, accompanied by model answers, for all subjects. She urged teachers to critically evaluate the results and implement strategies for improvement.

Engaging directly with each teacher and lecturer, Mrs. Bhanu Prabha sought individual feedback on methods to bolster student performance in their respective subjects. She set an ambitious goal for the upcoming examinations, stating, “No red line should be seen in the graph of next result.”

Addressing concerns raised by participants, Mrs. Bhanu Prabha highlighted the importance of increasing the number of students in hostels to facilitate regular winter classes, thereby improving results. She advocated to conduct additional classes focusing on reading comprehension and writing skills enhancement.

Director of School Education, Mr. Paldan, underscored the significance of community involvement and the need for counseling sessions for both parents and students to support academic success.

Concluding the meeting, Mrs. Bhanu Prabha welcomed the suggestions provided by the participants and called upon all stakeholders to collaborate in elevating the overall quality of education in Ladakh’s schools.
