Grand Celebrations Held in Kargil to Mark the Birth Anniversary of Imam Ali (AS)

Kargil, January 14: On the auspicious occasion of the birth anniversary of Imam Ali Ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him), who was born in the holy Kaaba and is revered as the master of believers, grand celebrations were held in the District of Kargil, along with observances across the globe.

In Kargil, the two largest ceremonies were organized by the Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust (IKMT) at Jama Masjid and by the Islamia School Kargil under the auspices of Jamiat-ul-Ulama Isna Ashriya Kargil.

The IKMT event commenced with a celebratory march from Hussaini Park to Jama Masjid, attended by hundreds of devotees chanting hymns in praise of Imam Ali. At Jama Masjid, prominent speakers extended greetings to the community and shed light on the virtues and exemplary life of Imam Ali, the first Imam of Shia Islam.

The key speakers included Sheikh Khadim Sadiqi, Sheikh Ali Arman, Sheikh Muhammad Muhaqiq, Sheikh Hasan Qasmi, and Sheikh Bashir Shakir, who highlighted Imam Ali’s spiritual, moral, and intellectual legacy.

The celebrations also featured poets and artists who recited naats and manqabats, adding to the spiritual atmosphere by glorifying the life and character of Imam Ali.

Simultaneously, the Zainabiya Women Welfare Society organized Eid celebrations at Zainabiya Hall in Haidary Mohalla, where thousands of women participated. The event provided a platform for women to honor the occasion and express their devotion through prayers and hymns.

The entire event at IKMT was organized by the dedicated believers from Minjee to Thuvina village. They decorated the market and the celebration venue with zeal and made arrangements for Tabaruk (refreshments).

The day marked a heartfelt tribute to the enduring legacy of Imam Ali (peace be upon him), uniting believers in faith and celebration.
