Leh, Oct 09, 2024: The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh and First Lady, Smt Neelam Mishra attended the function held at Air Force Station, Leh to commemorate the 92^nd anniversary of the Indian Air Force. A static display, including the display of various fighters, transport and helicopter fleet aircraft along with indigenous surface-to-air weapon systems, was organised to showcase the professionalism and capabilities of IAF and evoke a sense of patriotism among the youth.

Speaking at the event, the HLG commended the professionalism and patriotism of the IAF jawans and the assistance provided by IAF during rescue operations in Ladakh. He also highlighted the IAF’s role in national security and their critical role in the wars against the enemy forces. He reiterated the need to dispel the misinformation being spread about the Agnipath scheme and encourage youth to join the armed forces for the nation. The HLG also informed about various initiatives being taken by the UT Administration to provide employment opportunities to the Ladakhi youth.

The HLG also inspected the stalls displaying weapons and equipment and interacted with the jawans. He also interacted with students of Leh Valley School who had come to participate in the event.

Air Officer Commanding of Leh-based Air Force Station Air Commodore D S Handa; Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Shri Santosh Sukhadeve, IAS; SSP Leh, Ms Sruti Arora; officials from IAF and other officials were present during the event.
