Search Operation for Drowned Youth in Leh Continues Amidst Public Outcry
VoL Desk, July 02: A search operation led by the Administration, civil societies, and locals for a 17-year-old youth who drowned in Shey, Leh district, is underway. The public has expressed frustration over the Administration’s lack of adequate facilities for such rescue operations.
The youth reportedly drowned in the Indus River around 4 pm on Sunday. Despite immediate efforts by the Administration and locals, the body has yet to be recovered. The search continued the next day but was hindered by the river’s high water flow.
A local youth activist, Akhtar Hussain, expressed his frustration on social media, criticizing the Administration for allegedly arriving late on the second day of the search operation. He also highlighted the limited equipment available to the staff, which consisted of only a few boats and sticks.

Meanwhile, various associations have supported the search efforts. The Contractors Association deployed JCB machines to divert the river flow, aiming to ease the search operation.
On Monday afternoon, the Baseej-e-Imam team of IKMT from Kargil also joined the search effort, traveling from Kargil to assist.

Leh is a heartless sewer of broken dream’s, greed and ignorance . and probably bankruptcy . you sold your souls to the demons. Leh folk..and those demons at are Collecting their due.
