CEC unveils ‘Kargil Samzod’, new name of DIPR’s magazine ‘Kargil Nama’
Kargil, March 11: Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr. Mohd. Jaffer Akhoon today unveiled the new title/name of the bilingual magazine Kargil Nama published by Department of Information & Public Relations (DIPR), Kargil here at Council Secretariat. It was formally renamed as ‘Kargil Samzod’ which translates to store of thoughts.

Punchok Tashi;Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, Shrikant Suse; Joint Director, Information, Ladakh, Imteeaz Kacho;Assistant Director Information, Murtaza Ali; Assistant Commissioner Development (former AD, Information), Padma Angmo; Photo Officer, Haji Ahmed Khan; Head Assistant, Directorate of Information, Mohd Ali; Senior Assistant DIPR-Kargil, Mohd. Yousuf;Assistant Cameraman Mohd Hanifa; Editor Kargil Nama magazine/DIPR Kargil, Mansoor Peer, editorial teams including reporter Muzammil Mustafa, photographer Feroz Hussain and other officials of the department were present on the occasion.
The Assistant Director, DIPR Kargil presented the welcome address and thanked the CEC, EC, DC Kargil and JD-Information for attending the event.

During the ceremony, the CEC congratulated DIPR Kargil for renaming the bilingual magazine as Kargil Samzod .
He emphasized the importance of including public issues in the magazine without bias and suggested dedicating a column to political figures who have made significant contributions to society to inspire the future generations.
CEC Dr. Jaffer also recommended archiving all raw footage of the department for future references. He also highlighted the role of print and electronic media in overall development terming media as the fourth pillar of democracy.
Executive Councillor Information, Er. Punchok Tashi also underscored the main objective of shaping information, culture and agriculture through the magazine.
He assured full support from the Hill Council and assured that the necessary infrastructure and equipment would be procured in future through different executing agencies.
Deputy Commissioner Kargil directed to extend the outreach of the magazine and to make it available at the airports of Leh, Delhi, Jammu, Chandigarh as well as in Ladakh Houses in coordination with the concerned authorities . He also encouraged exploring untold stories and covering them in the upcoming issues of the magazine.
Joint Director, Information, Ladakh, Imteeaz Kacho highlighted the magazine’s aim, emphasizing its launch for the larger interest of the people and to promote local elements.
He expressed gratitude to the Hill Council, DC Kargil, and other stakeholders for their cooperation and coordination in the efforts of Assistant Director, Information towards renaming the magazine.
