Eid al-Fitr celebrated in Kargil with religious fervor as prayers held across the district
VoL Desk, April 23: On Saturday, Eid al-Fitr was celebrated in Kargil with religious fervor following the sighting of the moon in Jammu, Delhi, and other parts of the country.
Under the banner of Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust, led by Syed Kazim Sabiri, the Eid Namaz was offered at Kargil town. A similar Eid gathering for prayers was held at Jamiat Ulema Isna Ashriya Kargil campus, where the prayers were led by Sheikh Ghulam Ali Mufeedi.
Prayers congregation was also held at Sunni Eid-gaah led by Moulvi Tasleem Arif and Jama Masjid Sofia Noorbakshia led by Moulana Zahid Sufi at Kargil town. Hundreds of people from the suburbs of Kargil town offered Namaz there, while small congregations for Eid prayers were held at every village across Kargil.

In addition, gatherings for Namaz were held at all sub-divisional headquarters, including Sankoo, Drass, Chiktan, Zanskar and Suru. On this occasion, people greeted each other and prayed for the peace and prosperity of the region.
Officials from the Ladakh Administration, including CEC Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan, CEC Leh Tashi Gyaltsan, MP Ladakh Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, DC Kargil, and DC Leh, among others, extended their greetings to the people and wished them peace and prosperity on this occasion.
