Ladakh Director Holds Taisuru Livestock Dialogue
Taisuru, June 09, 2025 – Director of Sheep Husbandry Department, UT Ladakh, Mr. Iftikhar Hussain led a significant field visit to Block Taisuru today. He was accompanied by Hon’ble Councillor of Taisuru, Mr. Abdul Hadi, District Sheep Husbandry Officer Mr. Niyaz Ul Hassanain Munshi, Block Officer Dr. Mohd Baqir, and a team of departmental officials.
The team conducted an extensive inspection of sheep-rearing conditions across multiple villages and held direct interactions with the local community. Village Numbardars from across the block, representing Thangboo, Purtikchey, Youljook, Maita, Kargee, Taisuru, Prantee, Panikhar, Achamboor, Tangole, Thulus Pursa, Numsuru, Parkachik, and others, presented key concerns and demands to the Director and Councillor.
The primary requests put forward by the Numbardars were, construction of dedicated sheep sheds in every village, provision of trained shepherds to assist livestock owners, distribution of quality rams for improved breeding and livestock generation, and enhanced availability of essential veterinary medicines at local centres.

Director Hussain listened attentively to all representations. He assured the public that their demands would be addressed systematically, based on feasibility and departmental priorities. Emphasizing the critical role of livestock in the local economy, he encouraged villagers to increase their sheep numbers, which would strengthen the department’s ability to justify and expedite support initiatives.
The Numbardars assured the Director of their commitment to expanding their flocks and expressed appreciation for the department’s proactive field engagement. Hon’ble Councillor Mr. Abdul Hadi extended sincere gratitude to Director Hussain and his team for prioritizing the visit to Taisuru Block despite demanding schedules.
The visit concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Ahmed Hussain, Numbardar of Parkachik. Speaking on behalf of all Taisuru Block Numbardars, he thanked the Director and his officials. He particularly acknowledged the dedicated efforts of Councillor Abdul Hadi for facilitating the visit and ensuring public concerns reached the highest administrative levels.
Delivering the closing remarks, Councillor Abdul Hadi extended heartfelt appreciation to the Director and his team for prioritizing this vital on-the-ground dialogue with villagers and Numbardars. He underscored the essential partnership between the community and administration, pledging strong commitment to local development priorities and the future prosperity of Taisuru’s livestock sector.
