Grand Alumni Meet and Magazine Launch: ‘Abr-e-Umeed’(LSWSA)
The Ladakh Students’ Welfare Society, Aligarh (LSWSA) successfully hosted a Grand Alumni Meet and the launch of its annual magazine, ‘Abr-e-Umeed’, today at the Tourist Felicitation Centre, Baroo, Kargil. The event brought together students, alumni, and distinguished guests to celebrate knowledge, identity, and community spirit.
The program was graced by Mr. Kacho Feroz Khan, Executive Councillor, LAHDC Kargil, as the Chief Guest. In his address, Mr. Feroz highlighted the importance of education and student unity in shaping the future of Ladakh. He also assured the LSWSA of his continuous support—both financial and advisory—promising to stand by the union in all its future endeavors.
Notable dignitaries present included Advocate Khadim Hussain, Councillor, LAHDC; Dr. M.A. Shabbir, Assistant Professor; and Mr. Mohammad Hassan, a distinguished alumnus of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). They shared their experiences and encouraged the younger generation to uphold the values of learning, leadership, and service.

A key moment of the event was the official launch of LSWSA’s annual magazine ‘Abr-e-Umeed’, which showcases the creative, academic, and cultural expressions of Ladakhi students studying in Aligarh. It stands as a reflection of the hopes, dreams, and dynamic energy of the youth.
The event concluded on a warm and celebratory note with a community lunch for all attendees, generously sponsored by the Chief Guest, Mr. Kacho Feroz Khan.
