CEC Kargil Reviews RDD Works, Emphasizes Timely and Quality Execution

Kargil, May 22, 2025 – Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC, Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, today chaired a detailed review meeting of the various works undergoing in the Rural Development Department (RDD) Kargil.

The meeting was attended by the Executive Councillor RDD, Er. Phunsok Tashi, Director RDD Ladakh Syed Sajad Qadri, ACD RDD & Panchayati Raj Kargil, District Panchayat Officer, Executive Engineer REW, BDOs of all blocks, AEEs, JEs and other staff of RDD Kargil.

During the meeting, threadbare deliberations and discussions were held on various works and the CEC took a detailed assessment of various works under the State Sector, SDP, CAPEX and the Bosmet Goyoks scheme.

The CEC asserted that the timely execution of works should be ensured before the end of the working season, and maximum work should be achieved under the physical and financial components, while ensuring quality as well. He added that in August, another review meeting will be held to assess the status of work.

During the meeting, the CEC took a detailed assessment of works under the Bosmet Goyoks scheme, where all concerned BDOs of different subdivisions and blocks gave the detailed status of the achievement under the scheme.

CEC Dr Jaffer directed the concerned officers to prioritise the works under Bosmet Goyoks and clear discrepancies at the earliest. Further timely disbursement of funds should be ensured at the earliest and destitutes and underprivileged should benefit from the scheme.

The CEC further directed the concerned officers to do a timely review of the works of Panchayat Secretaries and the field workers.

The CEC appreciated the visible works under SBM, NREGA and NRLM and directed that execution of works should be done while taking the concerned councillors in confidence.

EC Phunsok Tashi said that beneficiary-oriented schemes should be handled and executed with precision. He further added that the work of RDD is been recognised and appreciated, and tandem coordination needs to be done with the councillors.

Director RDD, Syed Sajad Qadri, while giving the progress of the department, said that hundred per cent saturation was achieved in the SDP and state sector last year. He added that Rural Engineering is working in par with other executing agencies and maximum efforts will be made to achieve the targets before the stipulated timelines.

During the meeting, various issues of the department were also discussed in detail.
