Kargil, 12/02/2025 : The Ladakh Olympic Association Kargil organized a district-level archery tournament at Khree Sultan Cho Sports Stadium, Bemathang, Kargil. The event was inaugurated by Additional SP Kargil, Nitin Yadav, who attended as the chief guest. The opening ceremony witnessed the presence of officials, participants, and enthusiastic spectators.

During an interaction with Voice Ladakh representative Mohd Mussa Tumaily, President of Ladakh Olympic Association Kargil, Mehraj Ud Din, emphasized the aim of the tournament as a means to boost sports activities and encourage youth participation in traditional games. He highlighted the significance of archery as a traditional sport and urged the community to support such initiatives.

The tournament saw enthusiastic participation from 104 teams. Mehraj Ud Din also announced plans to organize an archery camp for youth after Ramazan, aiming to nurture budding talent. He further shared that the Ladakh Olympic Association Kargil, registered in 2014, has been actively promoting sports and cultural activities, including ice hockey camps, involvement in local carnivals and festivals, and participation in the Kargil International Marathon.

The event reflects the association’s commitment to preserving traditional sports and promoting a vibrant sports culture in the region.
