Panchayat Awardees Facilated by LAHDC Leh .
Leh, December 14: In a ceremony held at the Conference Hall of the Council Secretariat, Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Leh, the Hon’ble Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Adv. Tashi Gyalson, along with Hon’ble Executive Councillors Tashi Namgyal Yakzee, Stanzin Chosphel, Ghulam Mehdi, DC/CEO Santosh Sukhadeve, Councillor Lobzang Sherab and Councillor Regzin Lundup felicitated the awardees of the prestigious National Panchayat Awards 2022-23.
The event recognized the exemplary contributions of two Panchayats in Leh District – Sumoor Gram Panchayat was awarded the Clean and Green Panchayat Award, while the Khaltsi Panchayat was conferred with the Panchayat with Good Governance Award.
The awards were presented by the Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, during a grand ceremony in New Delhi.Facilitation was given to District Panchayat Officer, Junaid Amin Bhat along with Panchayat Secretaries, Ex-Sarpanches, and Ex- Panchayat Members from both the Sumoor and Khaltsi Panchayats for their outstanding contributions and tireless efforts in achieving the prestigious National Panchayat Awards 2022-23.

In his address, CEC Tashi Gyalson emphasized the importance of the awards, noting that the recognition of Sumoor and Khaltsi Panchayats serves as an inspiration for other Panchayats to follow suit in fostering effective governance.
He acknowledged the hard work of the Executive Councillor Tashi Namgyal Yakzee, DC/CEO Santosh Sukhadeve, Rural Development Department, Panchayat members, including the Sarpanches, Nambardars, and the community at large, highlighting their role in strengthening the foundations of local governance.
CEC Gyalson remarked, “This recognition would not have been possible without the unwavering support and collective efforts of the council, administration, and the people on the ground. Both Panchayats have set a remarkable example in governance, and their achievements should inspire others to strive for excellence.”The District Panchayat Officer (DPO), Junaid Amin Bhat, also expressed gratitude towards the council and administration, emphasizing that the National Panchayat Awards are highly competitive and two Panchayat Halqas begging the award is the testament of hardwork by people.
Khaltsi Councillor Lobzang Sherab and Tiger Councillor Regzin Lundup also shared their heartfelt thanks to the administration, council, and fellow Panchayat members.
They emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in achieving success and pledged to continue working towards even greater achievements in the future.
Executive Councillor Tashi Namgyal Yakzee congratulated the awardees and noted that the work of Panchayats on the ground is crucial for the success of governance.
DC/CEO Santosh Sukhadeve highlighted the importance of grass-roots coordination and the successful implementation of the Green and Clean Panchayat Program, along with various other welfare schemes, as key drivers for the awards.The ceremony concluded with a collective hope to achieve recognition in more categories in the coming years.
