Kargil, Dec 27, 2024: Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, led a heartfelt condolence meeting today to pay rich tributes to former Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh, acknowledging his remarkable contributions to the nation’s progress and development.

The event was attended by Executive Councillor Aga Syed Mujtaba, Executive Councillor Kacho Mohd Feroz, Executive Councillor Er. Punchok Tashi, and staff members of LAHDC.

In his address, Dr. Akhoon highlighted Dr. Manmohan Singh’s pivotal role in transforming India’s economic landscape through visionary leadership and unwavering dedication to public service.

“Dr. Singh’s commitment to economic reforms, social welfare, and inclusive growth has left an indelible mark on our country,” the CEC remarked.

He further praised Dr. Singh’s administration for initiating key reforms, liberalizing trade and investment, and driving significant economic growth. Dr. Akhoon also recalled landmark social welfare initiatives launched under Dr. Singh’s leadership, including the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) and the Right to Information Act (RTI), which empowered millions across the country.

The CEC emphasized the former Prime Minister’s focus on strengthening education and healthcare, ensuring broader access to quality services for all citizens.
