Leh, Jan 14: Lieutenant Governor Brigadier (Dr.) BD Mishra presided a meeting at Raj Niwas, Leh, with Lieutenant General Raghu Srinivasan, Director General of the Border Roads Organization (DG BRO), and key officials from the BRO and Ladakh Administration.

The LG appreciate BRO for keeping the Zojila Pass open even in the winter months. He shared the concerns raised by the Chairman of LAHDC Kargil regarding the clearance work at Zojila from both sides by Project Vijayak and Project Beacon and the need to continue to move forward without stopping at the zero point.

The LG underscored the importance of ensuring transparency and efficiency in labour engagement processes, recommending direct employment by the BRO rather than through private agencies.

The emphasis during the discussions was placed on expediting the completion of significant projects, particularly the bridge project so that the equipment could be transported to the ONGC geothermal project in Puga.
