VoL Desk, April 07: Hon’ble Lt. Gov Brig (Dr) BD Mishra discussed with State Legal Service Authority Member Secretary Spalzes Angmo about legal and social issues in Ladakh, including a recent case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act in Leh, during a meeting held recently.

The Lt. Governor was apprised that a Special Court under the Act is ensuring speedy trial of the said case.

Additionally, the meeting also highlighted the increasing number of dog-bite cases in Ladakh and the suo-moto cognizance taken by the Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh High Court regarding the same.

Lt. Governor BD Mishra emphasized the need for appropriate steps to control the dog menace and called for a collective effort from the civil society, the Ladakh Administration, LAHDCs, PRIs, and the army.

The meeting discussed the legal and social issues in Ladakh in detail and called for action to address them.
