DC Kargil reviews JJM Annual Action Plan 2023-24
Kargil, Feb 25, 2023: Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, Santosh Sukhadeve today chaired a meeting with District Water and Sanitation Mission (DWSM) members and officials of the PHE Department to review Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) Annual Action Plan 2023-24.
ACD Ghulam Muhammad, CPO Abdul Hadi, Medical Superintendent Dr Liyaqat Ali, CEO Mushtaq Ahmad, CAO Kacho Muhammad, Executive Engineer Mechanical, Kargil Muhammad Hassan, Executive Engineer PHE, Division Kargil Muhammad Hassan, DPO Padma Angmo and various other officers and officials from the concerned departments attended the meeting.
The meeting reviewed the Annual Action Plan 2023-24 and held a detailed discussion for its approval, strategy for improving Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTCs) coverage, 100 percent saturation of villages, Anganwadi Centers, Schools etc. status of authorization of State Water Quality Monitoring, status of authorization of Ground Water Instruments, status of installation of pipes, hiring of vehicle etc. were discussed in the meeting.

At the outset, DC Kargil, who is also the chairman of the DWSM, took a detailed review of the work progress on all JJM projects in the district including physical and financial progress, FHTCs in Schools and Anganwadi Centres and other related works.
The Executive Engineer PHE informed the chair about the status of availability of drinking water through tap connections. It was informed that till date, 13,506 households have been connected with FHTCs in Kargil. While as 5,789 are planned for the FY 2023-24 and requirement of funds planned for the financial year is Rs 645.25 cr.
While majority of the works have been completed under JJM in schools and Anganwadi Centres as for as tap water connections are concerned.
DC Santosh directed PHE Department to complete remaining/pending works in schools and Anganwadi Centres up to April 15, 2023 and installation of Solar Water Heaters in Schools.
The DC directed to complete the remaining/pending tap water connections for health centres, Gram Panchayats and Community Centres. He also strictly directed for the installation of pipes before the start of the working season.
The Deputy Commissioner also instructed for the accreditation of all water testing laboratories of the district up to ending May 2023.
Meanwhile, the DC also took a review of progress achieved with regard to set parameters and indicators under Jal Jeevan Survekshan (JJS) including Har Ghar Jal certification by Gram Sabhas, Water Quality Testing/Monitoring and Surveillance and Institutional Arrangements.
