Alamdar Nala clerics demands district status for Sankoo, affiliation with Police Station Kargil
VoL Desk, Jan. 14: Providing the transport facility and easy accessibility, the Majma-e-Ruhanion, Alamdar Nala of district Kargil demanded the UT Administration to keep the region intact with the Kargil Police Station instead of the newly upgraded Police Station, Panikhar.
The organisation maintained that for the public it would be difficult to reach Panikhar because of less vehicular movement than towards Kargil town.
The Majma-e-Ruhanion, a body of the clerics of Barsoo region that include more than 30 members, demanded to upgrade the police post in their region to Police Station. The organisation further demanded grand district status for the Sanko Sub-Division as the region is far-flung and most densely populated.

Pertinent to mention that the Ladakh UT Administration had recently upgraded three police posts to Police stations all over Ladakh including, Panikhar, and Wakha in Kargil, and Khaltsi in Leh district.
