Leh, November 24: Principal Secretary, Housing & Urban Development Department, UT Ladakh, Shri Sanjeev Khirwar, IAS, chaired a meeting to review progress of flagship schemes viz Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban (PMAY-U), Pradhan Mantri Street Vendors AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM-SVANidhi), Swachh Bharat Mission – Urban (SBM-U), Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation 2.0 (AMRUT 2.0)

Principal Secretary directed Director, Urban Local Bodies (ULB) to assess the funding from central assistance and funding required under UT share. The Principal Secretary directed that the Municipal Committees of Leh and Kargil need to conduct a detailed analysis on the release of funds, and distribution to concerned beneficiaries.

While reviewing the PM-SVANidhi scheme, the Principal Secretary directed to follow up with the banks, as well as conduct monthly progress meetings with the concerned banks and provide a quarterly disbursement report to the Principal Secretary. He further directed to initiate a comprehensive survey to identify and propose specific vending zones, as well as other modes of vending including carts, and movable vending along with study of the current status of the street vendors, and the provisions of street vending act along with the alignment of the current scenario with the scheme.

Further, the Director, ULB and PMU were directed by the Principal Secretary to float the RFP for Winter-friendly toilets.

Coordinators of the respective schemes and officials of MC Leh and Kargil and members of Project Management Unit, PwC India attended the meeting.
