KARGIL, SEPTEMBER 16, 2022: Director Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department (RD&PRD) Ladakh, Tahir Hussain Zubdavi today flagged off 6 waste pickup trucks for 6 blocks that include Karsha, Taisuru, Barsoo, Pashkum, Drass, Bhimbet of Kargil district on the occasion of ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’ campaign at Kurbathang.

Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Kargil Ghulam Muhammad, District Panchayat Officer (DPO) Padma Angmo, Chairperson Block Development Council Barsoo Hajira Banoo, and Panchayat members of respective blocks were present on the occasion.

The director said that six waste segregation centers are functional in the district in Kargil district in Kargil, Zanskar, Sankoo, TSG, Shargole, and Drass blocks.

The director informed that the solid waste management unit will be constructed in the remaining 9 Blocks so that every village is covered with solid waste management facilities as mandated under Swachh Bharat Mission Grameen Phase-II to attain ODF plus status.
