Delegation of Kung-fu Nuns Drukpa lineage called on CEC Leh
New Delhi, Mar 10, 2022: A delegation led by the members of Kung-fu Nuns (KFN) of the Drukpa lineage called on the Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson in New Delhi today.
CEC Gyalson congratulated Kung-fu Nuns for receiving recognition on the International Women’s Day in Delhi for their exemplary achievements and contribution in empowering women and breaking social barriers.
A meeting was conducted under the chairmanship of CEC Tashi Gyalson with the members of the Kung-fu Nuns where they deliberated on the need for conducting educational workshops on menstrual hygiene and self-defence training collaboratively in Ladakh.

CEC Gyalson highlighted that such programmes would be beneficial for the people of Ladakh and sought a formal proposal from the organisation. Once refined Hill Council would collaborate with an official Memorandum of Understanding for smooth conduct of such programmes, as stated by the CEC.
Members of the Kung-fu Nuns expressed their keen interest in organising educational and self-defence training, especially in far-flung regions. Taking note of their concerns, CEC Gyalson advised them to visit the subdivisions and engage with the local youths for the same purpose.
He further suggested measures to connect Live to Love and KFN with the local Social Welfare Department to brainstorm ideas for the further deliberation on conducting self-defence training in line with the programmes offered by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Govt. of India.
