KARGIL, AUGUST 05, 2021: Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan launched the revamped bi-monthly district magazine ‘Kargil Nama’ by the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) Kargil during the inaugural ceremony of 10 day cleanliness drive under Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav at Auditorium Kargil here today.

Executive Councilor for Information Aga Syed Abbas Razvi, Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil (ADC) Tsering Motup, Member Municipal Committee Zaheer Hussain Babar were present during the lunching ceremony.

CEC Feroz Khan said that Kargil Nama was a popular magazine published by DIPR Kargil in the past and people would take keen interest in reading it, adding he said that it played a vital role in establishing a bridge between the government and the people.

The CEC expressed optimism that DIPR Kargil will work with continued zeal and enthusiasm to educate the masses about various government policies and programmes about their welfare. He said that there are a large number of community libraries in Ladakh and the print version of Kargil Nama would help inculcate the reading habit among the general masses while also keeping them informed about the developmental activities in the district and a clear and transparent picture of governance in the district and the Union Territory.

Pertinently, the bi-monthly and bi-lingual Kargil Nama will be published in English and Urdu for educating the masses about the government schemes, policies and programmes. It will also be a platform for disseminating and discussing issues for development of Kargil and a forum for public to share their views, opinions and feedback to the administration.
