KARGIL, MARCH 04, 2021: Deputy Commissioner and CEO,LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve chaired a meeting of concerned district officers to discuss the preparation and finalization of Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK) plan in respect of District Kargil at DC Office Kargil here today.

District Superintending Engineer PWD Circle Kargil Er Ved Prakash, Chief Planning Officer (CPO), Kargil Abdul Hadi, Project Officer ICDS Nargis Banoo, Executive Engineers of various sub divisions, officers of Health, Education, Rural Development, Animal and Sheep Husbandry, MC, Industries, KREDA besides other concerned officers were present in the meeting.

The Deputy Commissioner Kargil while addressing the meeting highlighted the importance of the PMJVK scheme and stated that education, health and skill development are the priority sectors as per this scheme.

During the course of meeting, threadbare discussion was held on the formulation of PMJVK plan in the district and the concerned officers proposed various projects to be implemented under the said plan.

Under the Animal Husbandry and ICDS sectors, projects proposed included construction of shelter sheds at community level, hospital for Animal Birth Control (ABC) in each block and infrastructure for 28 Anganwadi Centers.

The Deputy Commissioner Kargil instructed the Chief Animal Husbandry Officer to propose an artificial insemination plant at Zanskar. He also directed the Programme Officer ICDS, Kargil to look for scope to construct the Anganwadi Centers within school campuses if there is availability of land for construction.

DC Santosh Sukhadeve stressed that the new proposed infrastructures should be developed on solar passive mode with sun face, double glass and child friendly toilets.

As regards to the projects proposed under Education, Industries and Sports Sector, the Chief Education Officer Kargil proposed construction of boundary walls, electricity facilities and water facilities in schools, the General Manager DIC Kargil proposed the establishment of an institute for development of soft skills at District Headquarter while the District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO) Kargil proposed for a Multipurpose Sports Complex in the district.

The Deputy Commissioner instructed the General Manager, DIC to work in coordination with other departments that are also working on skill development projects.

He also instructed to keep provision for development of those sports and games which the youth of the district are interested in and wherein they have the capability to excel.

Regarding the proposed projects of Health, Rural Development and MC, the concerned officers proposed the reconstruction and renovation of the Primary Health Centres (PHCs) at Karsha, Cha, Mulbekh and Khangral, establishment of a delivery hostel for pregnant ladies at Zanskar, development of 43 ponds that will cover all the blocks of the district, wash facility for sanitary workers at the district headquarter and other related projects.

The Deputy Commissioner Kargil instructed the concerned officers to projects for the PMJVK plan while keeping into consideration the local needs and requirements of different areas in the district. He also instructed them to ensure submission of projects within the stipulated timeframe.
