KARGIL, MARCH 11, 2021: The Baqirya Health Care and Research Center (BHC&RC) conducted screening and vaccination to thousands of people against hepatitis B in Saliskote, GM Pore and Faroona today.

The Deputy Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer LADHC Kargil Santosh G Sukhdeve flagged off the vaccination team in the morning from BHC&RC office at Biamathang. On the occasion, Chairman IKMT Sheikh Sadiq Rajai, doctors and members of BHC&RC were present.

At Saliskote Shagharan, Acting CEC Aga Syed Hassan Arman inaugurated the vaccination drive.

The vaccination has been given under its major mission hepatitis B free Kargil 2020-21 by BHC&RC Kargil. The screening and vaccination drive was carried at eight centres, three each in Saliskote and GM Pore and two in Faroona.

On the occasion, Dr Wilayat Ali, Dr Ahmed Ali, Dr Oliyat Ali, Dr Imtiaz Ali and other paramedical staffs associated with BHC&RC were present.

With the target to cover a total population of 4083 people, 2406 including men, women between the age group of 14-60 years were vaccinated on a single day, today.

All emergency drugs, resuscitation equipment including iv fluids were also available at all centres along with trained paramedical staffs.

Full Covid protocol with facemask and physical distancing were strictly followed at all centres during the screening and vaccination.

BHC&RC, the health wing of IKMT, opened three centers at Saliskoote that were at Thangkhor, Changra and Brok. In GM Pore the centres were setup at Mirthang, Chogrong and Shakhoq. The centers in Faroona were in Faroona and Khachan.
