Aryan Cup Archery Tournament concludes at Batalik
KARGIL, MARCH 14, 2021: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan who is also the Councillor of Silmoo Constituency stressed the need to revive the culture of Silmoo Constituency and said that as one of the major steps to achieve this goal, a mega event is going be held in the area during the last week of March this year.
The CEC stated this while addressing Archery players and the people of Batalik and adjoining villages during the final match of the Aryan Cup Archery Tournament held at Batalik here today.
Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kargil Dr Munawar Hussain Wazir, District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO) Kargil Muhammad Hussain Rehnuma, In Charge Principal Government Higher Secondary School Silmoo Nawang Sherap, Sarpanch Batalik Muhammad Raza and good number of Archery lovers and locals were present on the occasion.

CEC Khan on the occasion said that a mega cultural event is being organized in Silmoo Constituency to display the culture and lifestyle of the whole belt of Silmoo through this event, adding he said that we will focus on the display of our traditional costumes, tangible arts and crafts besides cultural performances and Archery events will also be held.
The CEC appreciated the archers for remarkable display of Archery skills and also congratulated the organizers for a well organised tournament.
CEC Feroz Khan urged the people of the constituency to increase the roll of students in Government schools so that further development of higher education in the area is made possible. He said that Archery will be introduced in the next interschool competitions.
The CEC said that after the establishment of Union Territory, youth of Ladakh are getting huge opportunities in different games and our kids must come forward in games such as Ice Hockey. He added that in Lalung 2 ice hockey rinks are being constructed and after their completion, it is hoped that during the next season Ice Ski training and tournament will be organized there.
Khan said that a number of developmental activities of the Silmoo Constituency are in progress which includes among others the works to connect the constituency with hydro power by July, 2021.
Responding to various issues and demands projected by the locals, the CEC said that all demands including the provision of a critical care ambulance, additional staff in health centres in the area which will comprise of a Dental Surgeon and Nurse are being taken up for suitable follow up, adding he said that demands related to health sector will be met soon to strengthen health facilities.
The CEC further said that to further cultural activities in the area an Auditorium is being constructed in Darchiks and with regard to the major demand of making Batalik a block, he said that whenever the UT Administration sanctions the new administrative blocks, demand would be projected to keep the area on the priority list.
Meanwhile, CEC Khan also urged the people of Batalik and adjoining areas to actively participate in the COVID-19 vaccination drive.
Earlier, in the final match, Indus Batalik-A won over Vishal Banjo Gargardoo-A to lift the trophy. 24 teams participated in the Aryan Cup Archery tournament.
