Acting CEC Kick Starts Mass Dosing of Public Livestock at TSG Block
KARGIL, MARCH 10, 2021: Acting Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil Aga Syed Hassan Arman kick started mass dosing of public livestock including sheep and goat at TSG Block here today.
Block Veterinary Officer (BVO) TSG Dr Fida Hussain, Manager Karakul Sheep Farm Khumbathang Dr Mohammad Baqir, Sub Block Officer Akhone Haji Ali besides the staff of Sheep Husbandry Department TSG Block were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the Acting CEC while hailing the efforts of the Sheep Husbandry Department Kargil for staring the mass dosing of public livestock in TSG Block expressed optimism that the step will go a long way in ensuring the protection of the livestock population against different animal diseases.
Aga Syed Arman further said that in rural pockets of the district, livestock population of goat and sheep constitute a major source of livelihood of the rural population and their regular medicare assumes great significance.
On the occasion, BVO Dr Fida Hussain apprised the Acting CEC about the deworming programme and said that the dosing is expected to be completed within a week’s time that will cover a total number of 31360 sheep and goat population from Saliskote to Sapi village.
The BVO further said that during the coming days, as per the direction of higher authorities, FMD vaccine will be given to all the livestock to protect them from communicable diseases, adding that the door-to-door population census has also been completed in this regard.
