Kargil/ Jan. 29, 2021:Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Kargil felicitated the Padma Shri Awardee and State Awardees from Kargil District in a function held at Council Secretariat here today.

Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor LAHDC Kargil Feroz Ahmed Khan, Executive Councilor for Tourism and Zanskar Affairs Er Phunsok Tashi, Executive Councilor for Health and Agriculture Muhammad Ali Chandan, Deputy Commissioner and CEO LAHDC Kargil Baseer ul Haq Choudhary, Superintendent of Police Kargil Anayat Ali Choudhary and Additional SP Kargil Iftikhar Talib were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, CEC Feroz Ahmad Khan while expressing happiness, extended heartiest congratulations on behalf of LAHDC Kargil to Padma Shree Awardee and State Awardees for receiving these  prestigious awards announced by Central Government and UT Administration in recognition  to their extraordinary services to the Ladakhi society in various fields.

While encouraging the awardees, CEC Khan said that these  awards are the ratification of the good and outstanding work done by them in various fields.

Khan added that it serves as an inspiration for others as well to strive hard for excellence and contribute their best to the society.

The CEC, further  expressed that the  awardees demonstrate true and selfless service which inspires all of us.

Feroz Khan  suggested the awardees to continue their service to the society at every moment and exhorted upon them to encourage others in the society to follow them.

Khan added  that the purpose of organising the felicitation ceremony by LAHDC Kargil was to encourage and recognize the contribution of awardees.

EC  Tourism Er Phunsok Tashi, EC Health  Muhammad Ali Chandan, Deputy Commissioner Kargil Baseer ul Haq Choudhry and SP Kargil Anayat Ali Choudhary also spoke on this occasion and extended greetings to the Padma Shree Awardee and all the State Awardees for recieving these prestigious awards.

The State Awardees including President Baqirya Health Care and Research Center Dr Villayat Ali, Nodal Officer Dedicated COVID-19 Hospital Kargil Dr Abdul Jalil, In-charge RTPCR Lab Kargil Dr Ghulam Muhammad, Theatre Artist Kacho Ahmed Khan and representative of Government High School Karith Muhammad Ali Akhone extended gratitude to the LAHDC Kargil and District Administration Kargil for recognizing their work and recommending their names to higher authorities.

The awardees  thanked LAHDC Kargil and District Administration for providing every possible support from time to time to carry out their work and also shared their experiences and views on it. 

Meanwhile, EC Phunsog Tashi highlighted the contribution of Padma Shree Awardee Tsultim Chonjor for initiating the construction of 38 kilometers length of road to connect Zanskar Valley with Himachal Pradesh out of his own expenses by selling his land and property.

Later, the CEC felicitated the Awardees with traditional khataks and presents which was followed by a tea party.
