Leh, May 31: The Department of Animal Husbandry, Leh launched a vaccination programme/drive against Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) under the centrally sponsored scheme (CSS) of the National Animal Disease Control Program (NADCP) to cover the entire bovine population of Leh district.

Awareness camp on FMD held in Singay Lalok

Leh, July 21: Chairman, Block Development Council (BDC), Singay Lalok, Stanzin Yangdol, in collaboration with the Sheep Husbandry Department, Khaltsi, organised an awareness camp on Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) in goats and sheep. A total of 8,700 livestock were vaccinated against FMD in the block.

FMD kills hundreds of livestock at Drass, Umba

DRASS, JULY 06, 2021: Viral Food and Mouth Disease (FMD) among animals at Minamarg near Drass and Labar in Umba caused heavy loss to livestock including cow and cattle, reported local sources from the areas.
