VoL Desk, June 01: Sheikh Mussa Mirzai Stakpa, a seasoned teacher and cleric, passed away today at 4 am at his residence in Titichumik after a month-long ailment. He had been admitted to the District Hospital Kargil during his illness.

Ladakh Students Now Eligible for 16 Seats in Technical Diploma Courses under Indian Government Scheme

Leh, May 28: Sixteen seats have been reserved for students from Ladakh in Diploma Level Technical courses for the academic session 2024-25 across 08 states. This is in response to the proposal by the Department of Higher Education, UT of Ladakh for inclusion of Ladakh in the Government of India scheme for reservation of seats in Engineering and Diploma Level Technical courses for States/ Union territories, which don’t have Engineering colleges and lack infrastructure in Technical Education.

RO Ladakh reviews counting day arrangements

Leh, May 28: The Returning Officer, 1-Ladakh Parliamentary Constituency, Santosh Sukhadeve and Senior Superintendent of Police, Shruti Arora reviewed the counting day arrangements at Sindhu Sanskriti Kendra (SSK) today on May 28.

The RO, Santosh Sukhadeve instructed that all the preparations required for the counting day should be complete by May 31.

Additionally, a trial run will be conducted on June 1.

SpiceJet flight to Leh returns to Delhi after engine hit by bird

NEW DELHI, May 26: A Leh-bound SpiceJet aircraft suffered a bird hit this morning and returned to the national capital, according to the airline. The plane landed back safely and the passengers were deplaned normally.

A source said the Boeing 737 plane had around 135 people onboard. In a statement, SpiceJet said the aircraft operating SG 123 from Delhi to Leh returned back to the national capital after suffering a bird hit on engine 2.
