AJUIAK volunteers bury a Christian who died of Covid-19 in Kargil

Kargil, May 17: Amid Covid-19 scare, Muslim volunteers of Anjuman Jamiat Ulema Isna Ashriya Kargil of Ladakh buried a Christian who died in hospital from Coronavirus.

Local sources told news agency Kashmir News Trust that an NHPC employee Samir Akaa from Ranchi Jharkhand posted in Kargil was tested Covid-19 positive and admitted at Covid-Care Hospital last week.

The infected employee was Christian by faith who succumbed to Covid-19 in the hospital at Kargil.

DDMA Leh extends Covid curfew

Leh, May 16: DDMA Leh has extended the ongoing Covid curfew till 24th May 2021, after a detailed assessment of the current Covid situation in the district.

Leh, May 15: In the wake of the ongoing covid curfew in Leh district, the District Administration, Leh, today distributed free ration to 737 migrant labours at Skampari.

The District Administration distributed 1,474kg rice, 370 kg dal/pulses, 370 litres of cooking oil, masks and soaps to the migrant labourers. Each labourer got 2kg rice, ½ kg dal and ½ kg litre of cooking oil.
