Kargil, 04-10-2023: Kargil recorded a 77.61% voter turnout on poll day in the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) elections, which concluded peacefully today.
The voting for the fifth LAHDC Kargil election was held across the district and a total of 77.61 per cent of voters exercised their franchise through EVMs to decide the fate of 85 candidates who are in the fray. The counting of votes is scheduled for October 8, 2023.

Today, the LAHDC Kargil elections witnessed a robust turnout of 77.62%, with 74,040 out of 95,388 registered voters exercising their right to vote. Among them, 48,625 were male voters, and 46,762 were female voters.
