Leh, June 18, 2025 – The Administration of the Union Territory of Ladakh, General Administration Department, today announced significant transfers and postings of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers, effective immediately.

According to Order No. 263-LA(GAD) of 2025, dated June 18, 2025, Sh. Rakesh Kumar, IAS (AGMUT:2021), who was awaiting orders of adjustment, has been appointed as Deputy Commissioner, Kargil. He will succeed Sh. Shrikant Balasaheb Sase, IAS (AGMUT:2018), who has been relieved of his duties from the UT of Ladakh and is directed to report to the O/o Chief Secretary, UT of Jammu & Kashmir, for further posting.

In another key change, Sh. Romil Singh Donk, IAS (AGMUT:2021), presently Sub Divisional Magistrate, Zanskar, has been transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner, Leh. He replaces Sh. Santosh G. Sukhadeve, IAS (AGMUT:2017), who has been relieved of his duties from the UT of Ladakh and is directed to report to the O/o Chief Secretary, Govt. of Goa, for further posting.

The circular emphasizes that the outgoing officers are mandated to hand over their charges to the newly posted officers with adequate briefing on duties and responsibilities. The Deputy Commissioner / CEO, LAHDC Kargil & Leh respectively, shall therefore be stood relieved.
