Kargil Prepares for Eid: Rates Fixed
Kargil, June 02, 2025 – Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kargil, Imteeaz Kacho chaired a meeting of the Rate Fixation Committee today to revise and regulate the rates of vegetables and fruits. The meeting was also convened to fix rates of live animals (sheep/goats) in view of Eid-ul-Adha (2025).
The meeting was attended by District Sheep Husbandry Officer; Chief Animal Husbandry Officer; Assistant Director, FCS&CA; Executive Officer, Municipal Committee; Chief Agriculture Officer; Deputy Registrar, Cooperatives; Tehsildar, Kargil; Food Safety Officer, Kargil; President, Merchant Association and members of the Vegetable/Fruit and Butchers/Mutton Sellers Associations.
After detailed deliberations and consideration of local market dynamics and supply chain factors, the Committee passed instructions to the vegetable and fruit sellers to notify the approved revised rates of vegetables and fruits to be enforced across Kargil District.

The Committee also fixed the rates of live sacrificial sheep and goats to ensure fair pricing for the public during the forthcoming Eid-ul-Adha.
The ADC emphasized the importance of maintaining ethical trade practices and directed enforcement agencies to conduct regular inspections to prevent overpricing and ensure compliance.
