Ladakhi Mountaineer Scales Kangchenjunga Under ‘Har Shikhar Tiranga’

Leh, Ladakh —
Bringing immense pride to Ladakh union territory ,Nb Subedar Tsewang Chosgail has successfully summited Mt. Kangchenjunga (8,586 m), the highest mountain of India and world’s 3rd highest mountain, as a member of team of the National Institute of Mountaineering and Adventure Sports (NIMAS). The expedition was led by renowned mountaineer Col Ranveer Singh Jamwal.

Chosgail, A seasoned mountaineer with over 15 years of high-altitude climbing experience and 35 mountaineering expeditions under his belt was also a proud member of the 2015 & 2016 Indian Army Everest – Lhotse Expedition. His latest summit of Kangchenjunga is a reflection of his enduring commitment, physical prowess, and the spirit of Indian mountaineering.

Chosgail’s journey from the remote village of Nang (Thiksay) to the towering heights of Kangchenjunga and becoming the first Ladakhi to summit this majestic mountain is a story of grit and dedication. Speaking after the summit, he said:
“It was an honour to be the first Ladakhi to Summit Mt Kangchenjunga and be part of this historic expedition conducted under the aegis of NIMAS & Climbing Kangchenjunga was not just a personal dream, but a moment to represent Ladakh, Army and the entire nation under the Tiranga.”

The successful expedition has been lauded across the adventure community and especially in Ladakh . This will surely inspire youth from Ladakh to explore careers in mountaineering and adventure sports. His accomplishment stands as a shining example of how discipline, training, and patriotism can together achieve greatness.

With this achievement, Nb Sub Tsewang Chosgail has firmly established himself as a mountaineering hero of Ladakh, and a source of inspiration for the entire nation.
