Ladakh Students in Chandigarh calls upon Punjab University VC
Chandigarh, May 06, 2025: President of the All Ladakh Students Welfare Association Chandigarh (ALSWAC), Idrees Aba, along with other union members, called upon the Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Panjab University, Chandigarh.
During the meeting, ALSWAC President raised the pressing issue of reducing hostel fees for Scheduled Tribe (ST) students to ensure better accessibility and affordability. The delegation emphasized the financial challenges faced by ST students and urged the university administration to consider a fee revision to support their academic pursuits.
Additionally, ALSWAC expressed gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor for her cooperation in permitting the association to organize cultural events on campus. These events aim to promote inclusivity, celebrate diversity, and provide students with a platform to showcase their talents.

The VC acknowledged the concerns raised and assured the delegation that the matter would be reviewed sympathetically. She also appreciated ALSWAC’s efforts in fostering a vibrant campus culture through its initiatives.
