DC Leh reviews various welfare schemes, emphasizes on 100% saturation of all eligible persons

Leh, May 1, 2025: The Deputy Commissioner Leh, Santosh Sukhadeve, chaired a comprehensive review meeting to assess the progress and saturation status of key welfare initiatives, including Ayushman Bharat (Golden Card), Unique Disability ID (UDID), NFSA Ration Cards, Aadhaar enrollment and the Unified District Information System for Education.

During the meeting, detailed presentations were made by all the concerned departments, explaining the process and procedures of registration along with detailed data for Aadhaar, UDID, NFSA, and Ayushman Bharat Golden Card. DC Leh emphasized the urgent need to streamline the Aadhaar generation process for students, highlighting its crucial role in enabling access to various benefits, including the Ayushman Bharat Golden Card. 

Furthermore, he directed all the concerned departments to ensure complete coverage, which will likely benefit eligible students and their families in accessing the health insurance scheme. He also reiterated the importance of Aadhaar-ration card linkage to Ayushman Bharat Golden Card and directed the officers to prepare and circulate instructional videos in the local language to raise awareness and improve accessibility to the scheme.

Concluding the meeting, DC Leh directed the Chief Education Officer to identify 20 schools with low Aadhaar coverage and start registration camps. He also directed all the departments for submission of complete block-wise physical data collection of their cards/ database. He emphasized on 100% saturation of all the eligible persons.
