CBSE Exam Results Announced: Kargil Sees Significant Improvement in Pass Percentage

EC Zakir Hussain and CEO SD Namgyal React; Acknowledge Progress in Education Sector

Kargil, May 14, 2025: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced the results of the annual Class 10 and Class 12 examinations. Regarding the overall performance in Kargil district, Executive Councillor for Education Zakir Hussain and Chief Education Officer Kargil, SD Namgyal, expressed satisfaction.

Speaking to our correspondent, EC Zakir Hussain stated that this year’s exam results were significantly better compared to the previous year. He reported that the pass percentage for Class 10 increased from 45.2% to 68.7%, while for Class 12, it rose from 35% to 45%.

He described this progress as a sign of improvement in the education sector and assured that efforts would be intensified to further enhance success rates in the coming years. On this occasion, he congratulated the successful students, their parents, and teachers, praising their hard work.

However, he also expressed concern over schools with disappointing results. He mentioned that, under the directives of the UT administration and the Hill Council, a detailed review of such schools’ performance would be conducted, and necessary measures for improvement would be taken.

EC Zakir Hussain acknowledged that government schools in Kargil face a shortage of teaching staff, and vacancies left by retired teachers have not been fully filled. He noted that while no school in Kargil currently has all educational facilities available, the improved results are still encouraging.

He emphasized the need for special focus on primary classes in government schools to ensure quality education and strengthen students’ foundational learning.

In conclusion, he thanked the Education Department, the UT Ladakh administration, and senior education officials for their cooperation, which made this educational progress possible.
