Kargil, April 20, 2025 – In light of the prevailing adverse weather conditions and the potential risks posed by landslides and rockfalls, the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Kargil has ordered the closure of all government and private schools across District Kargil for three days.

The directive, issued by the Office of the Chief Education Officer Kargil, mandates the closure from April 21 to April 23, 2025, to ensure the safety of students and staff. The decision was taken during a review meeting chaired by the Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor of LAHDC Kargil, attended by key officials including the Executive Councillor for Tourism/Revenue/PHE and the Additional Deputy Commissioner.
