Kargil, April 1, 2025 – In an administrative decision, the Union Territory of Ladakh has appointed Sh. Imteeaz Ahmed Khan Kacho, JKAS, as the new Additional Deputy Commissioner of Kargil. The officer, who currently serves as Joint Director of the Information & Publicity Department, will assume his new responsibilities immediately while continuing to oversee his existing portfolio until further orders.

The transition comes following the retirement of veteran administrator Sh. Ghulam Mohi-ud-din, JKAS, who completed his distinguished service on March 31, 2025, upon reaching superannuation age. His retirement was formally notified by the Jammu & Kashmir government in December 2024, marking the end of a notable career in public service.

The appointment order was issued by Sh. Michael M. D’Souza, IAS, Administrative Secretary of the General Administration Department, under the directives of the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor. The administration has expressed its gratitude to Sh. Mohi-ud-din for his years of dedicated service and extended best wishes to Sh. Kacho for his new role.
